(April 2012) Nigeria is building 9 new universities across the nation. NEW ERA ENERGY has entered into detailed design discussions with one of these whose Vice Chancellor wants to utilise the abundant wind power in his region to power as much of the university as is practical. If the project goes ahead it is anticipated wind power may provide as much as 500kW of power to the university that will be used for a wide variety of lighting, cooling and information technology purposes. In this way core educational facilities can continue even if more power hungry laboratory applications cannot continue for the lack of grid provided electricity.
