(Feb 2013) The rivers Niger and Benue that run through Kogi State have significant all year water flows. Kogi State is finalising discussions with NEW ERA ENERGY to pilot Solar Trackers that will lift hundreds of cubic metres of water per day per system. The water capacity is required to enable dry season rice farming across tens of thousands of hectares. The Solar Tracker Systems will transform agriculture in Kogi State.

KATSINA STATE STARTS DISCUSSION TO USE WIND POWER FOR IRRIGATION
(December 2011) Katsina State is in discussion with NEW ERA ENERGY to utilise wind power for commercial irrigation. Katsina state wants farmers to be able to grow multiple crops throughout the year in rainy or dry season so a viable irrigation power supply is vital. Having raised the water it is vital to use it optimally. Katsina State is in discussions with NEW ERA ENERGY for drip and sprinkler irrigation systems that the company also supplies.
JIGAWA STATE COMMENCES PROJECT FOR GRAZING RESERVES
(November 2011) Jigawa State has commenced a major project with NEW ERA ENERGY to utilise wind power to pump water in its key grazing reserves. Jigawa State like much of Northern Nigeria has significant numbers of livestock that require regular water. The project is to provide wind driven watering stations across the whole of Jigawa State. The project will also provide water at key points on the cattle routes that cross Jigawa State from Niger to Cameroon.

KEBBI STATE STARTS DISCUSSION TO USE WIND POWER
(November 2011) Kebbi State is in discussion with NEW ERA ENERGY to utilise wind power for rural water supply, livestock and farm irrigation. Kebbi State intends to alleviate the difficulties its people face with cost effective, sustainable and renewable energy sources. Kebbi State is delighted that products which can harness wind power are now available in Nigeria.

(June 2011) NEW ERA Energy has been appointed Exclusive Distributors in West Africa and the whole ECOWAS area for full product portfolio from Southern Cross Industries of South Africa. Southern Cross are the worldwide market leader in mechanical wind pumps having a range of CLIMAX wind pumps from 10-16 feet in diameter. Dependent on the depth of the water these wind pumps can provide as much as 50,000 litres of water per day in prevalent Nigerian winds.
