(March 2012) NEW ERA ENERGY has signed a mulit-year MOU with the United Nations IFAD programme in Nigeria to provide wind powered water supply and irrigation solutions across all of Northern Nigeria. Initially the MOU is for 7 states in Northern Nigeria. IFAD had been looking for a viable wind solution company in Nigeria for almost 2 years before deciding to partner with NEW ERA ENERGY. The benefits from the programme are anticipated to include:
an increased availability of water to thousands of people and head of liverstock;
an ability to farm all year and have multiple harvest;
an increase in crop yields and as a consequence farmers incomes;
an ability to create significant amounts of employment; and
a reduced degradation of the environement compared to diesel/petrol powered sites.
NEW ERA ENERGY will deploy a mixture of mechanical wind pumps and wind turbines to meet these needs.
